Cheap Nose Surgery
With the abundance of media articles surrounding plastic surgery, the subject can often be hard to get away from. We all want to look like the hot celebrities that grace the covers of magazines, conveniently forgetting that these images are all severely airbrushed. Nose surgery is probably the most popular of all cosmetic procedures and is, at times, not very expensive. However, it can be very dangerous to choose a cosmetic surgeon on price alone.
What is Nose Surgery?
Nose surgery (rhinoplasty) is a cosmetic procedure to enhance the shape and appearance of the nose. Some of the most common alterations that are made to the nose during rhinoplasty include:
- Making the nose more narrow
- Making the nose smaller
- Changing the appearance of nostrils
- Removing the appearance of humps and depressions
- Changing the appearance of the nose tip, by removing the bulbous part of the nose or by inserting an implant to have a more defined nose tip
Cheap Nose Surgery Abroad
When looking for cheap nose surgery options, you will find there are many stories about people who opt to travel abroad for the procedure. Many people have been known to fly to countries including India, Belgium, France, Switzerland and countries in South America due to the significantly lower costs. Prices in those countries are often much cheaper and the clinics on the whole seem to offer very good care.
The Risks of Cheap Nose Surgery
However, there are many horror stories of cheap nose surgery – and other cosmetic procedures – going horribly wrong. Discussing these stories could take a lifetime, but it should suffice to say that a patient should take extreme care in choosing a cosmetic surgeon abroad and try to find some very good trusted recommendations, and not only rely on online reviews, for example, as these can easily be faked. Qualifications abroad are also different from those in the United Kingdom, so it is important to find out whether a plastic surgeon has qualifications that match the ones that are required in the United Kingdom.
However, even if a very good plastic surgeon can be found abroad for cheap nose surgery, there will still be some risks involved. As with any medical procedure, complications can take place. Nose surgery is generally done on an outpatient basis, meaning that the patient will leave the hospital on the same day they have the surgery. Particularly when undergoing such treatment abroad aftercare will be much more difficult as a patient is unlikely to remain in a foreign country for several weeks, opting to return home instead. This means that if a complication does occur, they will need to seek medical advice at home, with a different surgeon, which can be very expensive.
As you can see, it is possible to find well trained, experienced surgeons to have cheap nose surgery abroad. However, extreme care should be taken before opting for this solution, particularly since complications after surgery can take place. Furthermore, if you are unhappy with the result of the surgery, it may be very difficult to have this problem corrected without either returning to the clinic where the procedure took place or finding a different – more expensive – surgeon in the United Kingdom.
