Closed Nose Surgery:If You Want Your Nose Scarless

Yes, you could say that a nose surgery is one of the most popularly conducted types of plastic surgery; however, there is even a more complicated procedure to just doing nose jobs; and that is doing a closed nose surgery.

Closed Nose Surgery

When that time comes where in you will have to choose to do plastic surgery, it is imperative that you get all the details as well as the various alternatives for your impending closed nose surgery; because a nose surgery is not just a very simple nose job. Imagine a surgeon forming and shaping your nose to whatever position you have chosen. In every procedure of a closed nose surgery, the surgeons are always presented with two options on how they should proceed; whether to do a simple nose job on the patient, or a closed nose job.

Undergoing An Open Nose Job Vs. Closed Nose Surgery

Should you go for an open nose job, you would have to know that it is considered to be the most commonly used technique for cosmetically perfecting the nose, and therefore be confident that the results would be positive.

But what will really happen if you undergo an open nose job? Research says that the surgeons will make small incisions or cuts in the patient's “columella” which is that small column of the nose's skin separating the nostrils. As soon as the cut is made, it will be easier for the surgeons to raise the skin off the patient's nose. This will then expose all tissues beneath including that of the cartilage. While this may sound complicated for us ordinary people, it is so easy for the surgeons to do an open nose surgery. The plastic surgeons can easily see all the patient's nasal structures and can also work on the patient's nasal tip cartilage in whichever way the patient wants her nose to be done. And although they are already known experts of this field, there is still one disadvantage of undergoing an open nose surgery; and that is having a little scar on the nose's outer columella. Good thing is that it can eventually heal to a size which is barely noticeable by other people.

Closed Nose Surgery: A Scarless Nasal Procedure

A closed nose surgery, on one hand, leaves a smoother nose, leaving no scars at all. This is because a closed nose surgery is conducted internally by using other openings in the patient's nose which are believed to heal at a much faster time. Moreover, a closed nose surgery is believed to be better for nose surgeries requiring not so broad shaping and reconstruction of the nasal position that is why it is not advised for surgeries requiring extensive reconstruction of the nose. It's simply for the reason that because it would entail working a lot on the cartilage at the patient's nasal tip. There are two known advantages to doing closed nose surgery; that of having no visible scars and the shorter time for doing the procedure.

But however you want your nose to be done, leave it to the experts. The plastic surgeons will know just by looking at your nose which type of nose surgery they will need to do on to you. However, it is still important that you know everything you need to know and to weigh all your options before finally deciding on whether it should be an open nose job or a closed nose surgery.
